2016 Wedding Trends

2016’s Biggest Wedding Trends!

Metallics In Weddings

Metallic color palettes with or without some extra sparkle are popping up more in weddings. Rose gold and copper are expected to be two of the most requested shades for 2016. Metallics are versatile as they can be natural or elegant, such as rustic copper lanterns or sparkly table runners at an indoor reception. Not only is rose gold showing up more in wedding décor but also wedding rings. Silver may be the metallic shade you will see less in décor this year.

Hanging Wedding LightsLighting

Lighting can create a romantic, fun or intimate setting depending on your goal. There are so many options from sparkly string lights to pendant lights, chandeliers and candelabras. In 2016 you will most likely see more pendant lights with bare “Edison” bulbs and candelabras that cast a subtle glow.

Loose Wedding FloralsJust-Picked Flowers

This year there will be more free-form bouquets and centerpieces with a mix of small and larger florals in a number of colors. Couples are opting for whatever is in-season and local with lots of greenery and herbs.

Wedding Non-Cake Wedding Cake Stand-in

More couples are saying no to the traditional wedding cake and choosing other dessert options such as pies, cookies or cheesecake. Dessert bars will continue to gain in popularity.  When it comes to the meal at the reception couples are having their favorite “home cooked” options served, including desserts like your grandma once made. Our wedding reception centered on comfort foods of fried chicken, macaroni and cheese with cake and monster cookies for dessert.

Dogs In WeddingsCouples Best Friend

There are a number of creative ways to incorporate your fur baby into the wedding. Most opt for their pet taking the place of the ring bearer or flower girl. There will be more cute photos with the couples best friend in 2016.

Wedding Dress With Sleeves
Less Strapless, More Sheer Lace Sleeves

Wedding dress designers are coming out with more shoulder and arm covering options. These pretty gowns often have sheer elements with applique florals, lace or beading.

Brides are looking to the past for inspiration with a family heirloom, or a new ring inspired by a vintage design. This trend will continue in 2016.
